FAQ

Which doors can be purchased primed or fully finished?

Most JELD-WEN moulded interior doors are supplied unfinished as standard, ready to paint in a colour of your choice. However, some retailers offer our doors fully finished with no further decoration required and are ready to fit. We recommend speaking to the retailer or visiting their websites to find out which finishes they offer.

We offer two levels of painting on our unfinished moulded panel doors:

  • Undercoated – this means both faces of the door are factory finished using moisture resistant paint which helps when doors are stored on site for periods of time. A top coat is required when the doors are ready for hanging. Available on woodgrain and smooth door options only.
  • Fully finished – this is similar to the undercoat option but the door goes through a final top coat process which means only the edges of the door will need painting on installation. Available on woodgrain door options only.
  • All our real wood veneer and foil veneer doors are fully finished as standard which means there is no decoration required to the door faces. However, the edges of the door will require sealing with a clear lacquer or varnish.
